This option changes the girth size of the chest. While inhaling deeply, measure the distance AROUND the widest part of your chest. (Click through the images to see the different options.)

This option adjusts the girth size of your waist.  While inhaling deeply, have an assistant wrap the tape measure around your waist at level with your navel.  In the back, you want the tape measure to wrap around completely level. The tape measure should be snug, but not tight.(Click through the images to see the different options.)

Lay a comfortable shirt on a flat surface, then measure the straight distance between the two shoulder seams or enter the width you would like your shoulder distance to be.

    Shoulder Width B

(Sizing is more for crafting reference then actual, we may reduce this by upto 15 cm)

Lay a comfortable, not stretch, shirt on a flat surface and measure the distance from the shoulder seam to neck / collar.

Using a straight ruler, have an assistant measure the distance across your chest, where your chest meets your shoulders.  Do not measure the contour of your chest.

This option effects the distance between the very top of the dō to the very bottom of your dō plate.  The dō should rest where you waist and hips meet.  This length adjustment will help stop your dō from pressing into your chin when sitting.  Measure from where your throat meets your chest, straight down to your navel.  Do not measure the contour of your chest and belly, this should be measured with a measuring stick.Sizing Option(Click through the images to see the different options.)

This option effects the distance between the armpit and waist of your dō, so the armor doesn’t push into your armpit while training or sitting.  Starting 8 cm below your armpit, measure straight down to your navel line.  Do not measure the contour of your chest and belly, this should be measured with a measuring stick.

  • Select your preferred fit: snug or loose. Measure your chest at its widest point, just below the armpits, while fully inhaling.
If wearing clothing under the armor, add 1 inch (2.5 cm) to your measurement. If in doubt, we suggest rounding up or down to the nearest size.

    Please choose your height.
Our standard armor is sized for people 167–177 cm tall (≈ 5'6"–5'10").
Selecting your exact height helps us tailor the armor for the best fit. We suggest to round up or down to the nearest size.

    Please choose your weight.
We use this only to gauge your body proportions so we can refine the armor’s shape and fit.
It does not change the armor’s quality or class, and sizing can still be adjusted later if required.

Traditional Protection, Reinvented for the Modern Warrior

Kikko Gane Dō is a lightweight brigandine, flexible tatami (folding) style (cuirass), traditionally worn as either auxiliary armor beneath a full samurai suit or as a standalone light armor. Crafted with tightly woven kikkō (hexagonal armor plates) sewn between layers of cloth, it offers excellent protection from slashes, stabs, and even blunt force trauma (utilizing padding) while maintaining remarkable mobility and comfort.

This style of brigandine armor was favored by daimyō, samurai of all ranks, wealthy merchants, and possibly even shinobi (ninja), especially during the late Sengoku and early Edo periods. When worn under the primary , it provided added protection in combat; when worn over it, it helped muffle sound during stealth operations and shielded the outer armor from damage when scaling walls or traversing rough terrain.

Iron Mountain Armory faithfully recreates this historical samurai brigandine armor using traditional materials and construction techniques. Our kikkō gane dō is a perfect addition to your collection, ideal for martial arts training, historical reenactment, LARP, SCA, or cosplay. For added versatility, the kusazuri or gessan (armored skirt) can be made detachable, allowing it to function like a manchira (armored vest).
