Description
Build Your Legacy with Armor Forged for the Realms of Battle and Honor!
The Ni-Mai Dō Kachi Samurai Armor is a robust, streamlined suit of armor based on one of the most prevalent designs of the late Sengoku Era. Handcrafted by our apprentice katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) at Iron Mountain Armory, this traditional armor set reflects the evolution of samurai warfare—when practicality and battlefield efficiency became paramount.
By the final century of the Sengoku Period, armor styles had shifted dramatically. Samurai turned away from the older, more delicate kozan yoroi (scale armor) in favor of designs that provided greater durability and ease of maintenance. The ni-mai dō (two-section cuirass) emerged as one of the most popular and enduring forms of armor. It featured an independent front and back panel crafted from overlapping ito-mono (long horizontal plates) that were riveted or laced together, forming a thick, impact-absorbing, and highly functional defense.
Our Kachi Class version is built using this classic ni-mai dō construction—without a hinge connecting the front and rear sections. It is crafted to your measurements for an ideal fit, then painted and laced in your selected colors and patterns. The design’s inherent simplicity makes it a favorite for martial artists, collectors, and first-time samurai armor owners who want authenticity without overwhelming intricacy.
You can further customize your suit through the Extra Options menu. Select your preferred kabuto (helmet), menpō (mask), suneate (shin armor), and more. Every detail will be tailored to reflect your vision—honoring the warrior within you.
The Ni-Mai Dō Kachi Samurai Armor is a full-sized, fully functional suit of armor designed for training, reenactment, or display. It’s a testament to warrior ingenuity, refined through centuries of battle and now ready to serve you in your own journey.

The quality is great, I regret not getting a menpo with hooks to secure better to the face. I would advise if you can afford it to get the next tier up from the kachi class if you can spare the money, the material is nicer and there are other extra bits that if you intend on wearing it you will wish you had.
his armor was amazeing. I’ll admit I was somewhat concerned about how this armor would turn out. When it arrived UT was amazeing! While it might be a tad bit more expensive I recommend going for the mid or high quality. While the Tachi quality like I got is good the other two would be well worth the extra money. All and all this armor is perfect.
I did order the least expensive model so there is merit in upgrading but for the price paid, you cannot beat this armor. This class is not combat ready but more appropriate for a badass costume or display. The company was amazing at communications and working with me on making it the right size (I am 6’4″ and 250lbs). Everything fits perfect and it looks amazing. I even went so far as to ask for some custome work on making it more “Darth Vader” themed and they came through beautifully.
Improvement suggestions: some lacing that was burned or melted to secure two together came undone but I simply superglued them back together. Some of the paint flaked off where the metal bends but a simple touch up was not that big of a deal and problem solved.
All in all, I highly recommend their products to anyone that wants a really nice set of armor that is hand made to your specifications. I doubt you’ll find a better product at this price range.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I get my armor yesterday and I must say: It is nearly perfect. just the kote, the arms are a little bit short, but this I can balance with training. I thank you for build it. I´m really satisfied with your work.
Some of the better quality armour I have seen on the field. Can be worn for hours without losing comfort and very easy to move / fight in. The armour holds up very well under live combat. Overall quite impressive and a fine suit of armour.
