Command Respect Like the Cavalry of Old
Arm Yourself with Arima Honor!
Descended from Fujiwara Sumitomo, the Arima Clan was founded in the 12th century by Arima Tsunezumi. Their name—“Arima,” meaning “has horse”—echoes the strength of their cavalry, which formed the core of their early military dominance. As tides shifted in Japan’s history, so too did the Arima. During the Sengoku Era, their power grew with the arrival of the Portuguese, who introduced new weapons and ideals. With their embrace of Christianity and foreign alliances, the Arima became a technologically advanced and ideologically distinct clan. Their role in Japan’s unification may have been small, but it was certainly bold—as they sided with Toyotomi Hideyoshi, shaping the fate of a nation on the brink of unity.
The Arima Clan Kachi Samurai Armor is a custom-crafted reproduction by our apprentice katchû-shi at Iron Mountain Armory, made in honor of this daring and resourceful family. It features kiritsuke iyozane sode (simulated scale shoulder guards) and kusazari (defensive skirt plating), modeled after the armor worn by late Sengoku-period warriors.
The Arima favored a striking visual presence—this set is finished in a crimson suna-style paint, with contrasting black odoshi (lace), representing both their wealth and their fearless aesthetic. The result is a suit of armor that blends style, tradition, and strength—just as the Arima themselves once did.
This Kachi Class set is a fantastic choice for martial artists, collectors, reenactors, or anyone looking to claim their first authentic samurai armor. It is fully functional, full-sized, and highly customizable to fit your style or event needs.

I purchased this armor in vermillion red, gashira option to be the center piece in our Japanese decorated home. For the price it is an amazing piece of functional art. We had it on the display box and now just purchased a mannequin which make the armor look even better. The armor is wearable as well. Although I would not wear it for martial arts purposes I will wear it for special events. I am very proud to have this beautiful reproduction samurai armor on display in my home and will pass it to my son when the time comes.
I am in love with my new armor. It looks amazing!
the stitching on the arms are weak and easily break
This is an economical suit made to a lower standard which is explained in the quality details. It offers only basic stitching on the lace because the lace needs to be adjusted by the user.
Thank you for your comment. Kachi quality is a very basic quality and as noted, may have some flaws or defects in craftsmanship. If you ever have any issues, please contact us so we may assist you with them.
The armor is gorgeous, the color is perfect, exactly like it’s shown in the picture sample. My only complaint is the non detachable nose from the menpo, but not a big deal being this a Kachi class, and i can always get another one!
