Measure your waist at the navel (belly-button level) and choose that size.

Important: The waist is traditionally 4 in / 11 cm smaller than the chest.
We cannot make the waist larger than your chest measurement.

Please select your height. Our standard armor is designed to best fit individuals between 167 cm and 177 cm tall (approximately 5'6" to 5'10"). This helps us ensure the best possible fit for your armor.

Please select your weight. This information is used for reference only to help us better understand your body type and guide the overall shape and fit of the armor. It does not affect the quality or class of the armor, and all sizing details can still be adjusted if needed.

Rise Above – The Refined Strength of Vertical Plating

This sophisticated Tate Hagi Okegawa (vertical-ribbed cuirass) samurai armor set exemplifies the elevated standards of Taisho class craftsmanship. Inspired by the Yukinoshita dō (five-plate cuirass) popularized by the Date Clan in northern Japan, this suit features elegantly riveted vertical plates that offer enhanced strength, comfort, and battlefield distinction. A modern gendai reproduction, this armor blends iconic historical design with a refined presence suited for high-ranking samurai.

During the late Sengoku and early Edo periods, improvements in Japanese metallurgy and European influence helped shape the evolution of armor design. The tate hagi style became a favored alternative to the more common yokohagi (horizontal plate) cuirasses, allowing for bold decorative finishes and increased structural integrity. The form-fitting curves and wide surface areas of this design were ideal for personalization, making the Tate Hagi Okegawa a striking choice for elite samurai and daimyo alike.

At Iron Mountain Armory, this yoroi is handcrafted by our most experienced Taisho-class katchû-shi (Japanese armor smiths). Each piece is forged and assembled using traditional methods, with minimal reliance on modern tools. From the shikoro (neck guard) to the kusazuri (skirt plating), every element of the armor is tailored with precision and pride, creating an heirloom-quality masterpiece worthy of any warrior legacy.

Clients may select from a variety of custom options, including helmet (kabuto), face armor (menpō), shin guards (suneate), paint finish, and odoshi (lace) color. The armor seen in our photos is shown “as seen,” but nearly every detail may be adjusted to reflect your vision of the modern warrior.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Taisho Class superior craftsmanship
  • Fully functional and authentic armor set
  • Diverse customization in paint, silk odoshi colors, and traditional details
  • Includes display box and stand

Shipping Information:

Our elite Taisho katchû-shi will handcraft your armor with focused dedication, using only the most traditional and authentic techniques. Please allow at least 2 to 3 weeks for meticulous crafting and preparation. This is not just armor—it’s a legacy forged for those born to command.
