Rise as the Shogun – Armor of Strategic Supremacy

Tokugawa Ieyasu was the truest taisho (general) of Oda Nobunaga, aiding in the fall of the Sengoku (Warring States) Era and ultimately unifying Japan. After the death of Nobunaga, he aligned with Hashiba Hideyoshi—later known as Toyotomi Hideyoshi—until the power struggle following Hideyoshi’s death. Tokugawa seized control after the famed Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 and was declared shogun three years later, establishing the Tokugawa Shogunate, which would rule Japan for over 250 years.

This iconic reproduction of Tokugawa Ieyasu’s armor honors the yoroi he wore during that decisive battle. The suit features the rare and regal Daikoku zukin nari kabuto (helmet shaped like the hood of the god Daikoku), a design so unique it has come to be known as the “Tokugawa Crown.” The kabuto’s commanding silhouette is matched by the ornate kiritsuke iyozane okegawa dō (simulated wide-scale two-section cuirass), delivering a flawless blend of battlefield utility and elite presentation.

Handcrafted by our master Taisho-class katchû-shi (Japanese armorers), every component of this armor set—from the broad sode (shoulder guards) to the dramatic kabuto horns—is forged with precision, respect, and pride. Clients may keep the “as seen” specifications or choose from a wide variety of customizable options including paint, odoshi (lace) color, helmet, mask, and trim.

This is more than a suit of armor—it is a living tribute to a legacy of order, innovation, and control. Just as Tokugawa’s bakuhan system kept Japan stable for centuries, this armor set commands admiration through its balance of function and grace.
