Prestige in Every Plate – The Armor of Command

The Bugyō Suji-Bachi Kabuto is a commanding example of Sengoku-era authority, masterfully recreated by the Taisho-class katchū-shi (armor smiths) of Iron Mountain Armory. Known for its intricate craftsmanship and battlefield durability, the suji-bachi kabuto (ridged helmet) was the standard for daimyō and senior samurai throughout the Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Period).

This iconic style features multiple ken (plates) of steel, each shaped and aligned to form a seamless hachi (helmet bowl). These plates are joined by pronounced raised ridges orsuji”, which not only reinforce the helmet’s structure but also present a striking profile. The bugyō (decorative rivets) can be left raised for authenticity or filed flat upon request for a smoother finish that retains the helmet’s armored integrity while emphasizing its silhouette.

Crafted as part of our Elite Series, the Bugyō Suji-Bachi Kabuto reflects the refinement expected of high-ranking officers. Whether chosen for historical reenactment, martial display, or distinguished collection, this kabuto embodies the power and discipline of feudal command.

Customize your order with a menpō (half-face with nose) or hanbō (lower-face), and select your preferred paint, art silk odoshi (lace color), and finish options. Every element of this kabuto can be tailored to reflect your personal taste and the spirit of your clan.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Taisho Class Craftsmanship: Forged by senior katchū-shi using traditional multi-plate construction.

  • Ridged Suji-Bachi Design: Individually riveted plates with raised or smoothed bugyō upon request.
