    Select to change, customize or remove the front crest (maedate) on the helmet. You can select a standard brass mon (symbol), your own custom mon / logo or a wooden or brass design.     This option is available for Suji-Bachi Style Helmets, and allows you to chose how many plates are used to craft the “bowl” section of your helmet.     For Taisho class armor, we offer an Upgrade option. This option increase the thickness of the steel plating by .2mm, plus tempering! Your armor will be ever more durable, battle ready & a little heavier.

    Select your choice of face armor available for your yoroi.  Standard and Ressei Menpo option will give you nose and mustache options.  Henpo and Hoate are without nose option.

    Add character to your Henpo or Hoate with a Goatee Beard. Cut the beard to your desired length.

    Ornamental Options

    Customize the visor of your helmet with embosed eyebrows and/or wrinkles.

    Add a symbol (mon) to the ears (fukigaeshi) of your helmet. This can be a standard mon or custom design you can email us in "Clip-Art" format.

    Select the color and finish for your Fukigaeshi (ears) of your kabuto.

The Date Masamune Suji-Bachi Kabuto is a masterwork of Iron Mountain Armory’s Taisho Class – Elite Series, handcrafted in honor of one of Japan’s most iconic daimyō and tacticians of the late Sengoku Jidai and early Edo Era. Known as the Dokuganryū (One-Eyed Dragon of Ōshu), Date Masamune commanded both battlefield fear and lasting legacy with his unmistakable crescent moon maedate (helmet crest) and keen military mind.

This full-sized, fully functional kabuto is crafted from 32 individual ken (plates) to form an imposing suji-bachi (ridged bowl) design—a hallmark of power and prestige. Each plate is hand-cut, shaped, and riveted by our Taisho-class katchū-shi, ensuring historical fidelity and structural excellence. The sweeping crescent maedate, carved fukigaeshi (helmet “ears”) with floral patterns, and meticulous attention to form pay tribute to the unmistakable silhouette of Masamune himself.
