The Edo Haramaki Gusoku is a Daimyo Class reproduction of a traditional Edo Era samurai armor set, masterfully handcrafted by the skilled katchû-shi (Japanese armorer) of Iron Mountain Armory. Every curve, plate, and cord of this yoroi is a reflection of the martial pride and spirit of the samurai during the peaceful yet prestigious Edo Period.

Although practical, during the later Edo era this feature became humorously known among warriors as the okubyo-no-ita — the “coward’s plate” — a tongue-in-cheek nod to the samurai’s wit and pride.
