Embrace the Refined Power of the Suji-Bachi Style
The Hari Bachi Kabuto (bowl helmet) is expertly handcrafted by our skilled Gashira katchû-shi (armor smith) at Iron Mountain Armory, offering a budget-friendly yet traditional option for the discerning samurai enthusiast. This kabuto (samurai helmet) replicates the iconic suji-bachi (ridged bowl) design from the Nanbokuchō to Muromachi eras, capturing the martial essence of a proud warrior class.
Though it bears the appearance of a multi-plate construction, each Hari Bachi Kabuto is pressed from a single sheet of steel into a bowl-shaped form. Clients may choose from simulated raised copper tube flanges or thin metal strips to mirror the flat hari-bachi style, as seen in historical examples. These simulated flanges offer sleek visual lines while protecting the suji (ridges) from dents or deformation under impact—ideal for modern display or light field use.
The helmet features a flat Nanbokuchō mabisashi (visor) and prominent fukigaeshi (turnbacks or “ears”), reminiscent of period styles worn by commanders during the height of Japan’s civil conflicts.
This particular model showcases a configuration with 8 simulated flanged plates and raised rivets, Egawa (leather pattern) E1, black kawa fukurin (edge trim), and a kiritsuke-kozane (simulated lamella) plating finish. Fully functional and full-sized, this kabuto is ideal for reenactors, martial artists, or collectors wanting a traditional helmet without compromising on price or presence.
Customize your order with various mengu (face armor) options—including menpō (half face with nose) or hanbō (lower face)—and a range of color and trim combinations to reflect your personal warrior spirit.
