This exceptional Taisho-class gusoku (armor set) features an iconic 8-ken bachi kabuto (eight-plate helmet) crowned with prominent, stylized deer antlers, symbolizing visibility and strength in battle. The bold silhouette of these antlers made Tadakatsu instantly recognizable, striking fear into his enemies and rallying the morale of his troops. The okegawa dō (clam-shell cuirass) is constructed in the kiritsuke iyozane (simulated scale) style and paired with dramatic ō-sode (large shoulder guards) for an imposing battlefield presence.
