Fearless Design Honoring the One Who Dared Death Itself

The Sanada Yukimura Suji-Bachi Kabuto is a proud recreation of one of the most iconic kabuto (helmets) from the Sengoku Jidai, crafted by the elite Taisho-class katchū-shi (armorers) of Iron Mountain Armory. This helmet pays tribute to Sanada Yukimura, the famed warrior known for his bravery, tactical genius, and legendary defiance during the Siege of Osaka.

At the heart of this design is the Rokumonsen maedate (crest)—six coins believed to pay the toll across the river to the afterlife. Sanada boldly wore this crest to show he had no fear of death in battle. His spirit lives on in this fully functional, handcrafted reproduction, worthy of any elite warrior or collector of distinction.

The hachi (helmet bowl) is formed from eight or more individually cut steel plates, hand-riveted together to create the pronounced ridges of the suji-bachi (ridged bowl). The shikoro (neck guard) is equally crafted by hand, with each plate shaped and laced in traditional kebiki-odoshi (full lacing) using your selected art silk odoshi color.

To complete this bold silhouette, synthetic deer antlers are mounted to the hachi, just as Yukimura himself would have worn in battle. The interior is finished with a fitted ukebari (helmet lining), ensuring lasting comfort and structural stability. The included ressei-men style menpō (face armor) features lifelike detailing—kuchi hige (mustache), shiwa (wrinkles), mimi (ear covers), odayori ore kugi (posts), and a removable hana (nose guard)—making this kabuto a complete and battle-ready work of art.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Elite Taisho-Class Construction: Crafted by senior armorers using traditional hand-riveting and shaping.

  • 8+ Plate Suji-Bachi Design: Strong, multi-plate construction for historical form and durability.

  • Rokumonsen Crest & Antlers: A symbol of fearless resolve, adorned with iconic synthetic deer antlers.
