Strategic Valor – Armor of the General Who Sacrificed All
This striking Gashira Class yoroi (samurai armor) has been expertly crafted in tribute to the legendary strategist Yamamoto Kansuke (山本 勘助, 1501–1561). As one of the “Twenty-Four Generals of Takeda Shingen,” Kansuke’s legacy lives on through his exceptional service and unmatched battlefield intellect. His most renowned achievement came during the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima, where his tactics brought victory against the great rival Uesugi Kenshin.
Despite his success, Kansuke believed his plan to be a failure. Fearing disgrace and the possibility of letting down his lord, he charged alone into enemy ranks and met his death with honor. In doing so, he secured a pivotal victory for the Takeda Clan. It is this kind of fearless devotion and strategic mastery that sets Yamamoto Kansuke apart as one of Japan’s most legendary taisho (generals).
To honor his valor and memory, this Gashira Class samurai armor set features a traditional hachi zunari kabuto (helmet) adorned with real water buffalo horns—symbolizing strength, courage, and unwavering battlefield focus. The okegawa dō (clam-shell cuirass) adds mobility and protection, while the armor’s customizable features ensure that each piece reflects your own warrior spirit.
This set is available in custom sizing and finishes to suit your preferences. Choose from multiple kabuto, menpō, suneate, paints, and odoshi (lace) styles. Whether for reenactment, display, or martial arts training, your handcrafted yoroi is made to embody not only a timeless warrior’s legacy—but your own.
