Train like a Modern Warior
with Aigote Kote
Aigote Kote are made for the modern warrior who values control, comfort, and readiness. Traditional armor was never just decoration. It was a disciplined system of protection, identity and movement. Among the core protective elements of samurai armor, kote (armored sleeves) guarded the arms while allowing the warrior to grip, draw, strike and endure.
In traditional armor, kote (armored sleeves) formed part of sangu (three armor parts), the group of defenses made to protect the extremities of the samurai. These pieces helped complete the fighting body, shielding areas that demanded mobility as much as defense. The Samurai Armour Glossary identifies kote as armored sleeves and describes related sleeve types such as kusari gote (mail and plate armored sleeves), showing the variety of arm defenses used across Japanese armor traditions.
The advantage of aigote (jacket style armored sleeves) is simple and powerful. By connecting both sleeves across the back, the armor sits more naturally on the body. It does not need to rely fully on the dō (cuirass) or knots across the body, to hold it in place. That means better balance, cleaner movement and a more confident fit when training, displaying or wearing this kote as part of a customized armor set.
For the warrior who trains with discipline, this matters. Loose gear breaks focus. Sagging sleeves steal confidence. Poor fit dishonors the craft. The Aigote Kote answers that challenge with adjustability, structure and Iron Mountain presence. Whether you choose humble hemp for a battlefield inspired Sengoku look or brocade for a more formal Edo period finish, this piece becomes part of your warrior identity.
Iron Mountain Armory can craft your kote (armored sleeves) in multiple style options. For a different pattern, design or historical inspiration via the standard option.

These armored sleeves are very cool. I love the multitude of styles and colors that allow you to fully customize them to fit one’s individual style.
They are easy and comfortable to wear. Adjustment is simple to figure out, everything being attached and adjusted with cordage and lacing.
I wore these and did some drills and test cutting with my own swords, and the armored sleeves DID NOT hinder me in any way.
Not only are these stylish, but VERY functional for the modern warrior.
Very comfortable and light. The quality of the gashira class is quite nice. The range of mobility is perfect. I can perform my iaido katas without being restricted in my movements. I feel like the samurai that founded my ryuha would approve of this armor.
