Defy Fate – Rise as a Commander of Destiny

The Ishida Mitsunari Taisho Yoroi honors one of Japan’s most renowned taisho (commanders), famed for leading the Western Army at the pivotal Battle of Sekigahara. A symbol of loyalty, ambition, and tactical brilliance, Mitsunari’s name echoes through the annals of samurai history as a strategist who fought to unify Japan—even at the cost of his own life.

This iconic gusoku (matching armor set) features a masterfully crafted tosei-dō (modern cuirass), available in ito-mono (straight plate), kiritsuke-iozane (simulated wide scale), or kiritsuke-kozane (simulated narrow scale) options. Atop the armor rests a fearsome zunari kabuto (helmet) crowned with gold-finished wooden antlers and a bold oroshi mabizashi (visor), draped with a flowing mane of horsehair—representing nobility and indomitable spirit.

Further enhancing this suit’s grandeur are optional decorative brass embellishments on the tsutsu gote (armored sleeves), underscoring Mitsunari’s prestige and elegant authority. Whether displayed proudly or worn in martial reenactment, this armor demands respect and admiration, much like Mitsunari himself.

Handcrafted by our senior katchû-shi (Japanese armor smiths) at Iron Mountain Armory, this armor is forged using traditional methods with minimal modern influence. Each detail captures the spirit of the late Sengoku Era, offering authenticity, superior quality, and heirloom-level craftsmanship.
