Description

Unleash the Dragon of Echigo – Armor of the God of War

This stunning reproduction suit of samurai armor is a tribute to the legendary Uesugi Kenshin, Daimyo of Echigo, known as “The Dragon of Echigo.” A master tactician in both battle and diplomacy, Kenshin’s military genius and unwavering belief in the Buddhist god of war, Bishamonten, earned him the respect of allies and enemies alike. His ongoing rivalry with Takeda Shingen, the famed “Tiger of Kai,” gave rise to some of the most iconic clashes in Feudal Japan and inspired the symbolic titles both men would carry through history.

Crafted by our skilled Katchû-shi at Iron Mountain Armory, this Kachi Class armor is a tribute to Kenshin’s legacy of courage, faith, and ferocity. Faithfully honoring his armor’s iconic style, this set features a black base finish with deep blue odoshi (lace), highlighted by a wooden dragon maedate (helmet crest) and a set of oversized Buddhist prayer beads—both symbols of Kenshin’s fierce resolve and spiritual discipline.

Constructed using primarily synthetic materials and modern tools blended with traditional design, this armor maintains historical accuracy while remaining affordable and highly functional. The armor includes Kiritsuke Iyozane (simulated scale plating), broad sode (shoulder guards), and kusazuri (skirt plates), with an Okegawa Dō (barrel chest armor). You may further personalize it by upgrading the kabuto (helmet), menpo (mask), and suneate (shin guards) to suit your aesthetic or practical preferences.

Display it proudly, wear it in reenactments, or honor your modern warrior spirit by connecting with one of Japan’s most storied military icons.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Kachi Class construction: economical, full-sized, and durable
  • Includes iconic dragon maedate and Buddhist prayer beads
  • Traditional Kiritsuke Iyozane, sode, kusazuri, and Okegawa Dō
  • Customizable with various paint, lace, and armor upgrades

  4. My armor arrived today. I can not adequately express how happy I am with it. I was only able to put it on and walk around a little today and than set it up for display, but tomorrow I will be sure to give it a more thorough test. Everything seems great though from what time I spent wearing it and it looks perfect on display. I would also like to say thank you for the extra touches you did, I really appreciate it. I am very happy with everything and I will be sure to spread the word as best I can.
